Early Birds Breakfast Club

The Breakfast Club is based in the Library and the School Hall and is the ideal place to leave your children in the morning before school.

The Club is open from 7.45am to 8.45am Monday to Friday during term time. We are able to take children from the age of 3 up to 11 years.

We are flexible to meet your needs:

  • children can attend any number of days a week from 7.45am.

The cost of the club is £3.00 per session all payments/bookings/cancellations can be made by the parents/carer via the MCAS app in the Clubs section. Childcare vouchers are accepted. We are currently registered with both KiddiVouchers and Edenred. For Edenred please quote reference P21159071. Let the school office know if your employer uses another childcare voucher provider so that they can be registered with the school. You may be eligible for Tax Free childcare, please contact us for more information. Please ensure that your child is booked in, in advance, to ensure we have the correct ratio of staff to pupils.

The Breakfast Club aims:

  • to support working parents by providing a high quality services which meets the needs of both parents/carers and children
  • to provide a reliable, safe, supportive and welcoming environment where children can play, have fun, relax and be with friends
  • to offer the children the opportunity of having a healthy breakfast at the start of the school day

The Breakfast Club will provide:

  • a healthy breakfast to include a choice of fruit juice, milk or water
  • activities after breakfast – such as drawing, board games, crafts, play or a quiet area where the children can work if they wish
  • respect for any dietary, religious or medical requirements
  • a high standard of care in a secure and supportive environment. We want children to feel relaxed and happy before starting the school day
  • caring and qualified supervisory staff

Staffing

There will be two Breakfast Club Leaders who have an enhanced DBS (safeguarding check), both are first aiders and one has a certificate in food hygiene.

Routine

Children should arrive at 7.45am; no responsibility will be taken for children arriving before this time. Entrance to the Breakfast Club is by the front gate – ring the bell on the gate post. Children will remain in the care of the Breakfast Club staff until 8.45am when they will be taken to their classes.

Numbers are limited to ensure a safe adult : child ratio, so please ensure that your child’s place is booked in advance.

You will also be required to completed a Registration Form and comply with the Club’s Terms & Conditions.

We are working in partnership with the Afterschool Club to provide wrap around care before and after school from 7.45am to 5.30pm (Mon -Friday) during the school term.

To book a place for your child in the Breakfast Club please download the MCAS app and register with your email address and mobile number. All bookings are to be made in the Clubs Section before attending. Bookings can be made on the day. If you require assistance please email office@kewstokeprimary.co.uk .

Starlings After School Club

Starlings After School Club is also based in our library/school hall and has been set up to provide childcare after school for the pupils of Kewstoke Primary School.

The Club is open from 3.15pm to 5.30pm Monday to Friday during term time. We are able to take children from the age of 3 up to 11 years.

We are flexible to meet your needs:

  • Children can attend any number of days a week from 3.15pm.
  • Children attending the later sessions at the After School Club will be offered a snack.

The cost of the club is as follows:

  • 3.15pm to 4.15pm – no snack included £4.00
  • 4.15pm to 5.30pm (attending after extra-curricular club) – snack included £6.00
  • 3.15pm to 5.30pm (full session) – snack included £10.00

Parents/Carers will be charged a late pick up fee of £10 for each 5 minutes after 5.30pm from 7th May 2019)

Payments/booking/cancellations can be made on the day via MCAS app in the Clubs Section by the parents/carers.

  • encourage children to join in a variety of activities and play
  • create opportunities to support learning (by helping with homework and reading)
  • employ caring and qualified supervisory staff

Routine

The Club starts at 3.15pm. All children booked into the Club come to a meeting point in the school library. Children from the Penguins Class will be collected from the main school corridor and taken to the library. Once at the Club the register is taken and the children have a chance to settle down, relax and have a drink. Weather permitting they can play in the outside area or with an activity inside. At around 4.15pm, the children will have their snack followed by a planned activity.

Collection

Only people authorised by the parents/carers on your child’s registration form are allowed to collect your child, unless staff are informed otherwise. All children should be collected by 5.30pm. If you are running a little late please let us know. Parents/Carers will be charged a late pick up fee of £10 for each 5 minutes after 5.30pm.
